针对此前引发关注的退役安置“买断”问题，2004年雅典奥运会男子110米栏冠军刘翔10日在个人微博上发文称，自己已于9月1日“买断”，获得49.4万元“买断费”。

刘翔同时表示：“从2015年4月7日至今，所有工资补助等，共收入982935元，我于9月2日全数捐给中华慈善总会用于西藏泥石流救灾。”

Chinese Olympic hurdles champion Liu Xiang announced on social media that he accepted a "buyout" for his retirement settlement on Sep 1, receiving 494,000 yuan, and donated all his salary income since April 2015 — totaling 982,935 yuan — to debris flow relief efforts in Xizang autonomous region.

此前，刘翔在微博发文称“体育局让我买断或当教练上班”，并就如何选择征求网友意见，引发关于其退役安置问题的关注。上海市体育局回应称，此举系执行国家体育总局与上海市关于运动员退役安置的有关规定。

The 2004 Athens Olympics 110m hurdles gold medalist had earlier posted that the sports bureau gave him a choice between a buyout or taking a coaching position, asking netizens for advice. The Shanghai Sports Bureau said the move followed national and municipal regulations on retired athlete resettlement.

对此，刘翔10日发文回应：“我尊重规定，接受疏漏，但规定从来不是借口，就像当教练和买断，迟到了11年，也已经不是选择。”

“把‘安置’这件事放在阳光下，不是为了让社会舆论施加压力寻求第三条路。”刘翔表示，“我更加希望组织认真去考虑每一位退役运动员的出路，善待他们，让退役安置灵活多样，让他们有更合适的选择，因为他们搭上了整个青春和健康，甚至留下了永久的伤病。”

In response, Liu said he respected the regulations but noted the choice came 11 years late. "I hope the organization will seriously consider the paths for every retired athlete, treat them well, and make resettlement more flexible and diverse, because they sacrificed their entire youth and health, some with permanent injuries," he wrote.

上海市体育局发布情况通报，回应刘翔“买断”一事

内容如下：

刘翔同志是我国优秀田径运动员，也是镌刻上海历史的功勋运动员，为体育事业作出了突出贡献。前期，经与刘翔本人深入沟通，提供了包括田径中心负责人、技术总监、体育类高校等组织安置方向，刘翔最终选择自主择业，我们予以充分尊重。9月1日，刘翔递交了自愿选择自主择业申请表，并签署了有关协议；9月7日，人事关系手续基本办理完结，并按规定给予了自主择业经济补偿金。对于刘翔同志将2015年4月以来全部工资收入捐赠用于西藏吉隆泥石流救灾的善举，我们深表敬意！

本市运动员安置工作依据国家及本市事业单位人事管理、退役运动员安置相关政策实施。组织安置、自主择业是政策规定的两条安置途径，过去十年间，本市对近千名运动员进行了退役安置，其中包括10余位获得奥运冠军、世界冠军的运动员。我们会继续关心好包括刘翔在内的所有退役运动员，也祝愿他们在人生新赛道上续写精彩！

The Shanghai Sports Bureau confirmed that after thorough communication, Liu chose independent employment, completed procedures by Monday, and received the required compensation. It expressed respect for his decision and gratitude for his donation. The bureau added that nearly 1,000 athletes in Shanghai have undergone retirement resettlement over the past decade and pledged to continue improving support policies.
