那是湖南的一粒粒种子。它种在了非洲的的高原、雨林与草原，走到哪儿，就把"吃饱饭"的底气带到哪儿。
That is a handful of seeds from Hunan. They're planted on African highlands, in rainforests, and on savannas. Wherever they go, they bring the confidence that comes from having enough to eat.
“实现人人粮食自给，消除贫穷，一个都不掉队！”
"Let us achieve food self-sufficiency, eradicate poverty, and leave no one behind!"
这句掷地有声的发言来自瓦努阿图，一个在地图上不仔细看都会落下的岛国。省长基里只有中学学历，但他眼里闪着光：“谢法省出产世界级品质的木薯、芋头和山药。湖南先进的食品加工工业机械正是补齐短板的关键。这套机械将让谢法省能够就地高效地加工根茎作物。”
That powerful statement came from Vanuatu —an island nation you'd miss on a map if you didn't look closely. Governor Kiri only finished middle school, but his eyes were shining: "Shefa Province produces world-class quality cassava, taro, and yams. Hunan's cutting-edge food processing industrial machines are the missing links. This machinery will allow Shefa to process root crops locally and efficiently."
那一刻，我忽然说不出俏皮话。只觉得鼻子一酸。
In that moment, I couldn't bring myself to crack a joke. I just felt a lump in my throat.
我们“蹭”上了一个好时代。不再挨饿了，所以见不得别人挨饿。自己站稳了，就想伸手拉一把还在赶路的朋友。从“吃得饱”，到“帮别人也吃得好”—— 这大概是“友城”，最赤诚的样子。
We've "ridden the wave" into a good era. No longer hungry ourselves, so we can't bear to see others go hungry. Now that we're standing steady, we want to reach out and lend a hand to friends still on the road. From "having enough to eat" to "helping others eat well too" — This is probably what "friendship cities" look like at their most sincere.
